In 2018, there will be an estimated 1.7 million new cases of cancer diagnosed in the United States, according to the American Cancer Society. In fact, over 600,000 Americans will die from cancer this year alone, making the disease one of the leading causes of death in the country.

On Tuesday, November 13, The Washington Post will bring together scientists, doctors, health-care innovators, patients and policymakers for “Chasing Cancer,” a live news event where experts will discuss the latest advances in cancer detection and treatment and examine how the health-care system in the United States is being shaped by a disease that touches the lives of millions.
